Action and Outcomes

What we've been doing to tackle local problems.

You asked us to look at the DPPO area within Boston, we have...

In partnership with the community safety team at Boston Borough Council, and local councilors, Mr Blaylock and Mr Dovey, sought the provision of increased signage and a review of the enforcement within the area, accepting that it should be a whole community effort to educate offenders and to marginalize their behavior.  Increased foot patrols will be conducted by NPT officers and PCSO’s.

You asked us to look at traffic and associated parking problems, we have...

Recently employed two new traffic wardens who now work within the neighbourhood community teams and are therefore speciffically tasked with any neighborhood issues. The chairman of the panel, Mr. Jeff Skinner, has walked around the whole of the panel area in company with the local county council highways manager and identified a number of problems which will be given a priority response by highways. Some have already been completed such as the replacement of traffic signs and the repair of damaged signs. Borough Councillors Mr. Jim Blaylock and Mr. Graham Dovey agreed to continue to work with the panel in an effort to assure the correct response from county highways. They also agreed to consult with regard to the current county council traffic management plan for the Boston area. Mr.Matt Fisher, Boston Borough Council volunteered to bring some maintenance issues to the highways department and to assist with street cleaning in and around the central park, by using park staff to assist the local community.

You asked us to help the panel to improve its engagement with the local community, we have…

assisted with signposting toward possible sources of funding and we are actively engaging on behalf of the panel with both the borough and the county councils to put together a public event.
