What we've been doing to tackle local problems.

Youths congregate in the area of the Playing Fields at the rear of Scotter Village Hall, and Parson’s Woods, which have a footpath linking the Playing Fields with the Cemetery and Church grounds. The footpath also links with the alleyway, which runs alongside the Old Rectory. Access can also be gained onto the Village Green.

That youths cause criminal damage and noise nuisance in these areas, including alcohol related youth disorder, and this spills out onto the High Street, and Hobb Lane and that this is a particular problem on Friday and Saturday evenings, between 18:00 and 22:00.

These incidents have increased since the Youth Club evenings were moved to Wednesdays.
We did:
We liaised with our partners, i.e. WLDC, Parish Council, Grace Church, North Lincs Council, and Children’s Services, and a Friday evening drop in centre was organised. This is still running, opening when resources allow.
We have also conducted extra patrols in the area, requesting assistance from the Neighbourhood Response Teams, informing them of the local problems, requesting that troublesome young people are dealt with robustly.
We take young people who are in drink, and in danger, home, and speak to their parents. This is difficult as some are from Messingham and Kirton Lindsey, but we endeavour to do so.
We asked you to report all instances of disorder so that we are better informed of the depth of the problem.
We always seize alcohol from underage drinking youths, and issue tickets to over 18s who provide alcohol to young people.
